Sash brushes are used for applying oil-based paints, stains, enamels and other solvents. They are commonly used on window mullions, machinery, pipes and other narrow areas.

Flat-bristles are used for a broad brush stroke. They can also be rotated to the side to produce a thin brush stroke.

Synthetic bristles are composed of nylon, polyolefin or polyester filament. They retain shape and stiffness and are commonly used for applying most paints and finishes.
